TIPS (Teaching Independence and Parent Support)

The Teaching Independence and Parent Support Program is operated by CAFCL at many locations in East Central Alberta. TIPS is a unique program that helps families with children age 0 to 6 facing multiple barriers. TIPS also assists newly pregnant moms with pre-natal education and skills. It is a program that is preventive in nature, aimed at increasing parenting skills and decreasing the amount of environmental disabilities in children. TIPS works with families as a whole, instituting healthy changes by providing families with information on nutrition, budgeting, child development, and community resources. TIPS operates out of the CAFCL office in Camrose, as well as from offices in Tofield, Wainwright, Killam and Provost.

Community Kitchen:
Community Kitchens are offered once per month in Camrose, Tofield, Wainwright and Provost. These kitchens offer unique group-cooking opportunity for families to come together and cook healthy meals at a very minimal cost to people in the program.
